About Nia Stevens Agency
I started my first business in 2004, at the age of 12.
My journey as a professional copywriter and content strategist began when I was 12. An HTML native and MySpace enthusiast, I had already been building computers and writing web pages for over three years.
As a fledgling math tutor and piano teacher, it was only natural for me to develop my creative process and start building my own brand. I started designing posters for local theater companies, writing copy for performance venues, and programming websites for businesses in my orbit. By my 14th birthday, I finished high school and had my own income stream.
In 2010, I graduated with a dual degree in Music and Creative Writing.
Thanks to eight years of vocal instruction and the mastery of nine different instruments, I started my bachelor’s degree at The College of Idaho (then Albertsons College) on generous scholarships. After graduation, I spent a year in the workforce and experience in customer service. One of my roles included being a Marketing Director for American Exteriors. The job went well. I clearly had an aptitude for sales but yearned for a more meaningful way to make a living.
It had long been my dream to become a technical writer and write textbooks for medicine and law.
My college left much to be desired in the way of career planning. It was my understanding that the only way I’d be able to break into this lofty career was to follow in my father’s footsteps of going to medical school and becoming a medical professor. So, I enrolled at Boise State University, where I spent the next five years studying Biochemistry, Mathematics, and Education.
While studying, I worked as a dormitory resident assistant, fitness instructor, and personal trainer—all while continuing to tutor math and music. These roles helped me develop the technical knowledge necessary for health and wellness copywriting and provided experience in project planning, mass communications, and service marketing.
When my health failed, tutoring turned from a side hustle into a family business.
The summer I turned 21, I nearly drowned in a river accident. Subsequent pneumonia precipitated a sudden change in my health that would alter my life forever. I started sleeping 16 hours per day and collapsing like a rag doll whenever I became excited, upset, or startled. It would take several years and a medical bankruptcy to figure out what was wrong with me.
I had never stopped tutoring as a side hustle. So, when it became clear that I would not be able to manage the demands of medical school, I decided to take a break from school altogether. My inbound marketing strategies were so effective that I not only filled my schedule but had to hire my husband and nine other employees to help me serve all the students who sought my services--all through organic traffic to my website.
We closed my tutoring company in 2020.
Though we could have kept the business going during the pandemic if we’d wanted to, the shutdown and birth of our first child made me reevaluate my goals and priorities. I loved tutoring, but it had always been a means to an end more than the fulfillment of my career goals.
I recognized that, while I was a stellar tutor, my most lucrative skill was obtaining clients for my business. Meanwhile, managing employees is exhausting. Was there a way I could combine this entrepreneurial talent and love of writing into a career that would serve me while I served others?
Today, I write full-time and love every minute of it.
In early 2022, I discovered “Write Your Way to Freedom,” a copywriting course designed by seven-figure copywriter Sarah Turner. This course provided me with the tools that ten years of college failed to deliver. Today, I create content that leverages my client acquisition skills and passion for writing. I get to do the technical writing that I always wanted to do—without the quarter million dollars in medical school debt.
Let’s Work Together.
One of the best parts about this job is that I get to be selective about the businesses and brands I work with. I do not have to sell my soul to be successful in this economy, and that’s a huge blessing. I pride myself on building relationships that last for years.
I value integrity, continuous learning, and a client-centric approach.
At Nia Stevens Agency, my mission is to provide strategic, high-quality content that helps your business connect with your target audience, build brand authority within your industry, and promote empowerment in your potential customers.
My specialty in long-form content makes it easy to find your website with search engines because it tends to rank better, feels more human, and provides tangible value to readers.
I work closely with your existing marketing team to ensure that every piece of content aligns with your brand, whether the finished product bears my name or not.
You can expect a 7-day turnaround for most work.
All quotes assume delivery of finished work within one week. This allows me to take the time I need to be both creative and precise. If you need your content sooner, I can provide expedited services for a modest fee.
I work so I can live. I do not live to work.
Today, my husband is a high school humanities teacher, and we have three small children. Our family enjoys lively debates on philosophy, economics, and Paw Patrol. To recharge, I run marathons in the mountains of central Idaho and cool off on our sandy river beaches.
I only take on projects that resonate with my ethical priorities and jive with my skillset.
If your project isn't a perfect fit, I have a shortlist of alternative writers who I trust to deliver at the same high standards to which I hold myself.

Take the next step.
Step 1: Schedule a Free Discovery Call
I believe in giving good advice for free. You can find advice anywhere, but the service I sell is the optimized execution of best practices specifically tailored to your brand. Let's have a chat and see what we can do for your brand's visibility.
Step 2: Complete a Test Project
I always like to start with a small project to ensure we're a good fit. A blog post, landing page, or research article can be a great one-off investment in your digital presence that can boost your search results and drive traffic to your site. For our first project, I always offer at least 3 drafts to give us time to hone in on your brand's voice and original content while ensuring that my services meet your expectations.
Step 3: Collaborate on an Ongoing Contract
If you're satisfied with the test project, we can establish an ongoing contract. This can take the form of a time-limited campaign or an ongoing monthly retainer. If we decide we're not perfect business partners, that's perfectly fine! I can refer you to another copywriter who might be a better fit.
